For those who have learned to draw for many years, coloring is not very difficult to get started with. Still, compared to hand-painting drawing on a paper, coloring an artisan keycap is definitely a very tedious work. Sometimes the creativity needs to move way for precision and balance, coloring the exact same layer repeatly, sometimes for 6 or 7 times - in order to maximize the approximation and find the best color.

The color can be as full and textured as you can see. During the procedure, the hands need to remain stable enough, while thinking comprehensively to achieve a more natural connection with the keycap. Staring at small objects for a long time is also a challenge to the eyes. The time and energy consumed increase accordingly.
